About Joseph Tramontana

Joseph Tramontana has served as School Business Administrator and Human Resources Director in Hamilton, New Jersey. The Hamilton Township School District is one of the largest districts in the State of New Jersey.

In his capacity of  School Business Administrator he developed, implemented and managed a $200 million dollar budget with great success.  During his tenure as Human Resources Director he served as the district's Chief Negotiator.  This required the ability to resolve complex contracts with one of the state's most powerful lobbying groups.  The contracts were settled below state averages and on time.

Mr. Tramontana has a proven track record of increasing revenue and reducing costs.  An example of these efforts is when he developed a renowned Employee Safety Program.  The results of this program were reduced employee injuries and savings of nearly one million dollars of related costs.

In his capacity of School Business administrator, he was able to implement an Energy Savings Improvement Program.  This program dramatically reduced energy expenditures, while allowing the district to purchase new equipment at no cost to the taxpayers.  These are only two examples of creative he ways he was able to reduce major expenditures.

Mr. Tramontana, during his tenure, aggressively expanded technology and wireless infrastructure, so hundreds of  students could take advantage of the great learning opportunities state of the art technology  can offer. He believes this is an important and critical area and will have a dramatic effect on student learning.  Technology and student learning remain a passion for him.

Joseph Tramontana holds standard educational certificates from the New Jersey Department of Education as a Principal and School Business Administrator.  In addition he has studied Business Administration at Rowan University and is an honors graduate from Thomas Edison State College in Organizational Development.  He maintains a well-read blog called "The Citizen's Guide to School Finance.  This blog discusses school finance issues, but explains them in a way that students, parents and residents can understand.  Other topics are discussed such as technology, leadership, communication and student learning.
